CONGRATULATIONS!

Congratulations to Chris and all the cast and crew of "Lend Me a Tenor" for a fantastic production!

The autumn production will be "Present Laughter", Noel Coward's semi-autobiographical comedy masterpiece, directed by Bernard Godwin. The show dates will be 12th-14th November 2009. There will be a casual social read-through to familiarise ourselves with the play at the hall on Monday 6th July at 8pm, and auditions will take place on Monday 13th July at 8pm - all welcome regardless of experience.

We are delighted to have a new patron, Susannah York.
"I think amateur dramatics, like all dramatics, are of huge value to the community! Great for the people who do them and even better for the people who see them. I wish you enormous luck and pleasure in your further forays into this field and am delighted to become a Patron." Susannah York

Many thanks to Mary Tamm who served as patron for the last 4 years. We are most grateful for her support over this time.
ABOUT THE MAGDALENE PLAYERS

The Magdalene Players are an Amateur Drama Group based in Wandsworth, London, England. We have been performing at the St Mary Magdalene Church Hall, Trinity Road, Wandsworth Common, London, SW17 7HP, United Kingdom since 1980.

Not only do we tempt audiences with pantomimes but also with other delights. We have turned our hands to drama, comedy and musicals. We are proud of what we have achieved and over the years there have been many high points.

Patron: Susannah York
Previous Patron: Mary Tamm

We are always on the look out for new blood. So if anyone is interested in treading the boards or taking a role backstage, helping with the important jobs of set building, painting, props etc, please contact us. No experience is necessary, only a wish to have fun and at the same time achieve something worthwhile.

The Magdalene Players is not just about putting on these shows. We also have social meetings and trips to the theatre, as well as carol singing at Christmas. We have put on the occasional murder mystery, and also hold improv sessions. In the past, we have been able to perform some of our songs at old peoples' homes and to raise money for MacMillan Cancer Support.
